Submit an Article

Do you feel that you’ve got what it takes to tell other players about your newest idea, tournament experience or have a featured card to talk about, then read on to find out how you can submit your own article to PokemanDan.co.uk.

Step 1 – Article Guidelines

For your article to be read and credited by players reading, then you’re going to need a decent length to what you’re writing.
For Featured Card articles, please keep to a 400 word minimum. This will give you enough space to be as thorough as possible.
For Full Articles about either the Trading Card Game or the Video Game, please try and make your articles 1000 words or more. This will be enough to keep the reader’s attention for long enough and give you a guideline to go as in depth as you like. There are no maximum limits for these articles, but I would keep Featured Cards to about 700 words max. Those of you writing Full Articles, the sky is your limit!

Step 2 – Finalising Your Article

This step is probably one of the most important jobs because it will leave an impression on the Moderator who you are submitting your article to and they are making the decision whether to publish it or not.
By finalising, I generally mean that you have gone through your article 2 or 3 times, checking grammar, punctuation and spelling as thoroughly as you can before submitting. If it isn’t perfect, then don’t worry, the editors will take care of that, but please make both of our lives easier by submitting something that you are going to be proud of.

Step 3 – Submitting to the Site

Follow these steps thoroughly to get your article over to us as quickly as possible.

1. You will need an account on PokemanDan.co.uk, which you can get by clicking ‘Sign Up’ in the sidebar to your right. If you can’t find it then, check out the image below. If you have an account already, then you select ‘Submit an Article’ from below your Gravatar image to be taken here.

2. You should then be directed to this page here and, if you have read all of these instructions, then you can scroll right to the bottom of the page and click ‘Submit My Article’.

3. You will be brought to a page similar to the one below. Please type out an appropriate title for your article in the top box and try to think of something really catchy to grab the reader’s attention.

This is where you put your text..

4. In the big box below, you will be able to copy and paste your article into it from wherever you typed it out in originally, such as Microsoft Word, OpenOffice etc. From there, you should check that everything is all correct and looking as you wanted and then click the blue ‘Submit for Review’ button on the right-hand side. Your article will then be sent to the editors who will get back to you as soon as possible to let you know if your article is ready for the site.
